EPPP Exam Empty EPPP Exam

Post  dvb_phd Sat Nov 08, 2008 11:17 pm

I took the EPPP exam on November 6 after studying extensively for the past 4 to 5 months using AATBS and PsychPrep material. I felt I knew the information in both sets of material only to discover that the actual test questions were not at all representative of the material. I now understand why the pass rate is so low. It's not that people are not studying or not adequately prepared. It's like buying a trip to Tahiti and landing in the North Pole. The actual test questions appeared foreign and ambiguous relative to the preparation. I anticipated conceptual and contextual questions but nothing like the actual questions. I now feel that my experience with using the material was an exercise in distraction rather than preparing me for the exam. I will not know the results of the exam for at least three weeks but I am feeling overwhelmingly discouraged and disillusioned. By the time one reaches the educational level of PhD one can generally walk away from an exam and say, "I think I did okay" or I felt good about the results" but in this case I haven't a clue as to how I did. I feel as though I would have done equally as well if I hadn't put in the time to study as hard as I did.

Are there any other materials to study other than these outrageously expensive courses in distraction? I feel totally mislead. I would appreciate any comments, feedback, or experiences from anyone who has felt disillusioned by this unnecessary process.

EPPP Exam Empty regarding the EPPP

Post  mar2 Thu May 21, 2009 1:45 am

I took the test 2 weeks ago. I studied extensively for several months but felt that this was of no significant help to me. If I need to retake the EPPP I am not sure where to get other study material. Have you found out your score yet?
